Hokay, it's about time I let everyone know what's been going on officially. The past two weeks have been one mishap after another.

First off, that infection I mentioned last time turned out to be Methicillin Resistant Staphylococcus Aureus, otherwise known as MRSA, also known as Oh Holy Fuck, This Could Kill Me. I've been on Bactrim for the past 8 days now, and it seems to be clearing the infection up pretty well. Unfortunately, there's a high probability I'll be reinfected at least once with this over the coming months because this is a damn hard bug to get rid of. And each time it comes back, it gets stronger. x_x

The day after I started taking Bactrim, I was hit with something almost as unpleasant and a whole hell of a lot more painful - a gout flare in the ankle of the same damn leg. This just a week after spraining the OTHER ankle. Clearly, one of my past lives was a very, very bad man. Probably kicked some deity's puppy.

Yesterday I started the paperwork to get on SSI/Disability. If it works out, I'll have at least some income, which will be a big step towards me feeling like I'm not a huge burden on my parents and everyone else around me. It'll definitely be helpful in dealing with medical expenses, if nothing else. However, it'll take at least 120 days from the date of filing the final forms (which I have to do in person at the office sometime in the next month and a half) before they can tell me if I'm qualified or not, let alone start sending money. This also means I've got to have some medical exams done, to prove that I am in fact disabled. The gout alone should be sufficient, but I've got back problems to go along with it, so here's hoping, hey?
