Zzzzzzz.. I MEAN... Layout change?

Hay guys!

SO. I've been thinking about doing this for awhile, and finally bit the bullet.



I don't know about you guys, but as our monitors get wider and wider, Paixao's layouts just look... narrow. Painfully so.

Plus we've had em' since our... second birthday I think? I'm losing track. ANYHOO, clearly it's time for at least a bit of an update.

I'm not planning to massively overhaul them, because they do work, and the colour schemes are, for the most part, agreeable on the eyes. (Although I might tweak the yellow links on the crack comm >.>;)

More my intention is just to widen them and do some tiny tweaks that are needed to adjust them to being that much more wide.

I'm also playing with the idea of taking advantage of the 'blurb' box. Can probably use it to stick some extra links in it, as I discovered it works. (Which is useful as we've run outta link space in the link list, oops.) It'll let me link up some stuff I've really wanted to link up but haven't had the space to. (Like linking some of the more important tags on the OOC comm!)

Which also leads me to the rpg and messageboard comms. With the sidebar wider, would we like to have a tag bubble on them? I know it can look like a huge unreadable blurb, but I've been finding, such as on Dear Mun, it really is useful to have on the main page for a quick ctrl-f finds me what I want right there.

It's a thought to consider! And if we do give it a shot, it's not like I can't just disable it if it looks like crap. XD It's literally an on-off option so...

Obviously don't want things to get cluttered, but I've certainly found a couple comms now with some nice designs that have a heck of a lot of useful things down the side.

ANYHOO, now that I've babbled away. Let me show you what I've done thus far. I haven't touched the actual comms. Been using the mod journal as my testing ground.

Have a looksy (paixaomods!) and see what you think!? This is a beta. I haven't enabled tags cause... the mod comm has only a single tag. lulz. And I've edited the top post a bit so you can see... I switched around the entry colour with link colour. Made more sense to me for links to be purple and the actual text black. All the other comms have the links a colour and text black or white... donno why this one didn't follow that.

Oh and here's all the headers I made. They started off 1000 wide, but I narrowed em' down to 900. Lowered the height too. Problem with these wonderful widescreens, is they're getting narrower. =3= Annoying when half the screen is just the banner. Anyhoo, they might need further tweaking? I... am not as good at making these as Ang was. ;_; If they're unbearable, let me know. XD













SO YES. TELL ME WHAT YOU THINK GUYS. If you have any suggestions or anything, fire away.


ALSO... Uh. Comm tags. Half of you use the week ones and uh... half don't. (I'm guilty even of forgetting it.) If we're going to use em', best to try to be consistent or something, ne? XD I am dubbing... later today, tag fixing day! Check your characters (by hitting their tag) logs for week and completed tags... if the log is complete.

I... didn't get to the lists. I'll work on that when I wake up, along with some other things I've noticed.

Edit: Ugh I'm awake... OKAY. SO. ...I'm gonna just put them up, and we'll go from there, cause I need em' on the comms now to tweak more. SO. YES. I hope you'll all enjoy the surprise of suddenly changed layouts. *A*b lulz
