Hello everyone! :D I'm pretty sure I'm the first new member here after the move to DW, so that's pretty neat! Nice to meet you all, I'm Lora. And Paixao is my first ever experience with a community rpg so please let me know if I'm doing anything funky.

But here's Flandre Scarlet from the Touhou series, which is pretty darn obscure! She's an emotionally unstable vampire who thinks blowing things up is a game and has spent all 495 years of her life in a basement. She also has the body and mentality of a ten year old. No, I'm not kidding. I'll try to keep her creepy destructive tendencies in check for anyone worried about losing limbs. XD
Her gate is Vanaheim and she'll probably be freaking out over all the people in the dome and promptly hiding outside and sobbing in a corner/blowing things up pretty soon.

If anyone is up for dealing with her I'm open to anything!

SFlk;jsd Just move incentive for me to get around to buying it! XD And from the description the manga looks really interesting. ;D If I ever find it somewhere I'll definitely give it a try. I can understand the hype for both since Touhou(where Flandre is from) is a REALLY hard game... imagine one of those arcade airplane shooters but now magnify the amount of bullets by 100. DX It's hardly known since it was made by one person in Japan but it's reallllly addictive. (I die alot)

So can also... read it here too. Finding hard copies of it is really difficult, or depending on which version, extremely expensive. Since the company that was translating it previously either went out of business or discontinued it (I don't remember which anymore), so theirs is out of print. The only ones publishing it in english now are all the way out in Singapore and while you can order from them over here, it's a bit complicated getting it overseas, not to mention the shipping x_x

Although the nice thing is that they're still translating it, and at a pretty nice pace XD (and from what I can tell the translations aren't bad, I was lucky enough to buy the first seven volumes on ebay awhile back ;;)


The other word of advice I can give about the series is that the start of it is confusing as fuck if you have no idea what's going on in the first place. The artstyle is very stylized at times, making it very easy to get visually lost if you have no idea what you're looking at. Normally I suggest watching some of the anime first, since it's much easier to follow, but there is a lot of differences between them (although the first 3 episodes or so are roughly the same).

But yeah once you get pass all those problems, it's still a really good underrated series. It's pretty much what happens when you take FMA, D. Grayman, and Soul Nomad (YET ANOTHER UNLOVED THING ;^;), and mash them together /o/.

Whoa! Thank-you for all the info! :D Just started reading it and it's very interesting! (and you're right about the confusing-ness, but HEY it's grabbed my attention XD) Even from just this first chapter it really surprises me that it isn't more widely distributed. But I'm willing to bet it's the usual mess of legal hub-bub that keeps things over seas.
And if you ever happen to get the urge to suddenly become irritatingly addicted to being shot at by magical girls in sparklie patterns to the beat of highly catchy music, then here's a link to all the Touhou Project games: here

They were all made by a a guy who calls himself ZUN and as you can guess they aren't mainstream in the least. XD But he programmed the games, composed the music, and drew all the art(for most of the games, which is why it's a little shakey in this area but in later games he hired someone to draw the artwork) all by himself so it's pretty amazing. But there are BUCKETS of fan stuff for it all!
If you do decide to try one I'd start with Embodiment of Scarlet Devil(the one Flandre is from) since the first five need an emulator to run, plus EoSD is one of most popular as well as hard as HELL to beat.... Or hey, if you want a quick example, here's the Extra Stage fight with Flandre: There's a reason this type of fight is called Bullet Hell
