The name of the game is the same as the game: check in and let us know that you've been active! Remember that half of your characters have to have journal activity (to include PIMP and MB). If you've got an odd number, round up. If you've got just the one and have a good reason they're not on the journals, let us know.

Comment with your character, their journal name, a link to their latest post, and the date of said post. Journal activity can just be a straight link - no embedding needed. Look, we even made one of those nifty boxes to make it easy:

Weather

Evidently the going drizzle is long-lasting and slow-moving. Over the course of the week, it spreads southward, so by the end of the week the entire eastern half of Paixao (from I on over) is cloudy and drizzling. In the dome around the Muspelheim gate (M3-5, N3-5, O3), the drizzle has turned to downpour. Better bring an umbrella if you don't want to get soaked.

Announcements

Alright, guys, we've got a few this week.

The first is huge: please post, and please keep posting. We implemented a timeline in order to speed up the game, but that doesn't work if nobody posts. There is a mod plot cooking up, but there are a few things we need to finish before we can start on it, namely experiments. If you're an Org mun or if your character is involved, please contact your threading partner and talk about finishing existing threads and possibly summarizing new ones. I'd like to get Lab A finished and Lab B well underway (if not completely done) by the end of this IC week. That's three OOC weeks to finish things up, and I think we can do it if we communicate. Finish or summarize existing logs and either summarize the second set of Lab A logs or schedule a time to complete them over AIM. I know school and work are killers (boy do I ever know school and work are killers, holy cow), but again, I know we can do this.

The second is just as big: communicate. The AIM chat is a fantastic place to plot, the OOC comm is there for that reason as well, and don't be afraid to IM each other for plots and threading. Everyone here is awesome, so let's get together and create some awesome RP, a'ight?

Third goes along with the first and the second: use the MB and the journals. They're getting included in the upcoming activity check, so having some activity there is awesome. Plus, a good bit of CR and plotting take place on there, and for those of you with paid accounts, it's a great place to show off all those icons you're so proud of. C'mon. You know you want to.

Simple recap is as follows: 1) post (especially experiment participants), 2) communicate, and 3) use the MB and journals. Simple and fun, amirite?

This IC week will end on Saturday, February 14th. ♥

Next activity check is a week from Saturday - February 7th. This one will require journal activity as well as log activity.

Week One

Hello, everyone, and welcome to your first week change!

Or, since it’s the first one, I suppose this is more of a week start.

We’ll work it in sections and run through each one so everyone’s on the same page.

The Week in Review

This would be the section where we recap the past week’s events in a few sentences or less. This includes significant journal/MB conversations as well as threads. Since this is the first week and recapping all of Paixao would likely take volumes, we’ll start fresh next week. So far as general events go:

- Experiments are still happening
- Sonic, The Doctor, and Lara are planning on exploring the church
- Larxene has her eye on Yorda, among other people
- The Heartless are still staging (rather backdated) attacks; the latest victims are Yorda and the Genie
- Donna, Rose, and Jenny are getting in trouble…of course

If we’ve left any significant or relatively recent events out, please note what they are in the comments and we’ll add them.

New Plots

This will be the section where we notify you of any mod-planned plots or events for the week. This week, with the exception of the continuation of the experiments, there are none.

New Characters

Just what it says on the can: this is the section where we list the new characters this week.

New characters in this case are Leslie, Jess, Aerith, Mr. Hanekoma, Sasame, Riku, Chaos, and Vincent.

Weather

This one’s also self-explanatory: it’ll be this week’s weather in Paixao.

The weather starts out with the usual: a balmy 70 degrees F and sunny. Towards the middle of the week, however, a light drizzle starts falling on the northeast part of the city: basically, the Muspelheim gate over to Folios Weaponry [J5] and Havasu Medical Center [M7]. The drizzle continues to fall on this part of the city through the rest of the week.

Announcements

The final section is for any OOC announcements the mods have for the week.

This week, there is one announcement, and it has to do with the dates. When you create a new thread, under the “Time” section, you should also fill in what week it is. Thus, any new thread this week should have “Week One” in the “Time” section as well as the time of day at which the thread occurs. You do not, however, have to tag your threads with the week number.

This week will end on Saturday, January 24th.

Also, there will be an Activity Check coming up on the 7th. Remember, we're not requiring journal entries for this check - just 3rd person logs. Journal activity will not be required until February.

Boy howdy am I getting tired of tacking "PLEASE READ" on the end of post titles. ;;;

SO. As promised, the poll is now CLOSED and results are in this post.

For the Activity Check question, there was a rather overwhelming majority: 16-5. Activity checks will remain monthly and start on the 7th of each month, which is what we've been doing.

The journal question got a bit trickier. Overall, journals were voted to be included in the AC 14-7. Within the "Yes" votes, 12-2 believed journals should NOT be one per character per check.

As for what should consist of a journal entry...well, this one's definitely tricky. Aside from the "not included in AC" and "Other" options, the "Journal Entry," "Thread in another character's journal entry," and "MB Post" options received over 50% of votes, whereas "thread in another character's MB post" and "AIM/PIMP log" both clocked in just under 50%.

Normally in this situation, I'd drop any option that has less than 50% of the vote; however, we're still testing things out, so all five options will be viable options for the next AC. Basically, we'd just like to see some first-person activity.

Finally, the question of how many characters per mun need to do journal entries was also a good majority. 14-7 believed that journals should indeed be included, and of those 14, 10-4 believed that only 50% of a mun's characters need be required to do journal entries. Basically, if you have multiple characters, only half of them will be required to do journal entries (ex: someone with six characters needs to show evidence of three characters' activity on journals). If you have an odd number, round up (so someone with five characters also needs to show three characters' journal activity). There's a loophole in this: if you think your character would not use a journal for any reason (asocial, technologically inept, etc), by all means let us know and we'll excuse said character. This only really works if over 50% of your muses are not inclined towards the journals; after all, if half are and half aren't, you'll likely be checking the half that is.

And finally - and, guys, this is the most important part - we're testing this out. This is a trial period, and it's going to be interesting for everybody, mods and players alike. If you're having trouble with one of the changes, or if things aren't working out, or if you have ideas for improvement, please tell us. You know we're all open to listen, to discuss, and to make changes.

So those are the results of the poll. Changes will be implemented starting Sunday, January 4th. This is when the new time scale (3 weeks OOC = 1 week IC) will officially be implemented; however (and this is a big however), the new Activity Check rules will not be implemented for January's check. One week's not a lot of time to kick up journal activity, so we figured a month would be enough time. The new Activity Check rules will be implemented February 7th.

Okay, guys, it looks like we've gotten just a bit disconnected as of late and it's about time to start getting the game in gear again. This post is meant to get us all back together again. Rosette is still having a bit of a powwow with Chrono (whose mun is on hiatus). I'll likely do a backdated narrative with her getting involved with the hallucination plot, having her see Joshua. She won't be happy, but it'll get Timon off the hook for the fact that Joshua's no longer in the city.

Sonic is having ramen with Namine. After that, he's heading to the church with Lara and the Doctor for...well, further findings, we hope.

The Prinny Squad is still trying to get the hell away from Zim. They don't have any further plans, I think.

Luxord is experimenting on Cloud (whose mun needs to contact me about Cloud's memories so we can move on) and Pride (whose mun I am holding up with my lack of posting. Sorry). He may go mock Laharl on his journal, but right now he's knee-deep in experiments and still going.

Flonne is being tortured by Larxene. She's not going to be feeling too well for a very long while.

Death is...I have no idea. Sharron, Erika, any idea where that thread is going, or should we all just move on?

I personally am rolling into finals week starting on Monday, so these next two weeks are going to be a bit insane for me. I'll try to keep up, but please bear with me here ♥
