So! Fast approaching is the
Paixao Spring Festival! Sort of rushed, yes, but we'll get to that later. The festival, if anyone has read
the opening post for the beginning of week two (relevant info to it begins at the "We've been waiting for so long"), begins on Tuesday and lasts until Thursday. Depending on how kind time is to us, that might change. Also, in case anyone was wondering, it will take place
at the center of Paixao, which is squares
I-K/5-7 (according to the
map of Paixao), and it will be common for people posting on the days SUNDAY and MONDAY to see citizens and the like preparing for it (carrying tents/supplies, setting booths up for games and food and the like). The WEATHER has also mysteriously changed from winterly to spring-like!
The event is intended to bring the majority of Paixao together. This will be a perfect opportunity to mingle into other mini-storylines and sort of ease everyone under the same umbrella so to speak, and have them a chance to come in contact with other characters they otherwise wouldn't. All in all, it's a big social event where everyone can have fun! (Though some of your characters may groan at it. XD) As the flyer says, there will be music, games, lots of food, etc. General festival-type stuff, Paixao-style!
I also think this will be a good chance for us to introduce
mini-games and such like that, controlled by NPCs. The only trouble is that I cannot do this all by myself and
I need my lovely NPC players to help me out. :) This really cannot happen without you! So, if anyone of you is interested in assisting in running a "game" of some sort (we will have some kind of meeting on the specifics, because even
I'm not sure how we'd go about this), please let me know and we will set up a thread or have a chatroom-based discussion on how we will run NPC games. You don't even have to be a regular NPC player, really – if you're just interested in assisting for the festival temporarily, that's quite all right! Also, you may even comment here with questions and ideas concerning that.
Secondly, there will also be a
talent show! Since it is so fast approaching, it will be more like an improvisational sort of event for the characters participating, but OOCly you have lots of time to prepare for it, I think, considering the actual show will probably be held on Wednesday and you'll have to prepare in advance for it.
The talent show is – well, just what it says. In the center of Paixao, probably on some sort of temporarily set up stage, characters will perform for the audience of Paixao! They can sing, dance, do magic tricks, etc....
and the one who has the best act will win a prize! They can perform in groups or by themselves, and there isn't really a limit to what they can do as long as it's impressive (or amusing). It'd also be really neat if people could incorporate stuff like your own
art and music in order to help out your act. :)
All contestants will register by posting a form on a thread I will set up soon which will act as a sign up in order to enter into the contest. It will constantly be open and occur at any time, any day, lasting Friday to Tuesday for your character to wander by and sign up. In order to sign up, have your character wander by, play them filling out the form, and post the form somewhere in your comment, then you'll be set!
The rules are simple; you write up a post of your character performing an act on Wednesday afternoon, and post it to the thread that is set up for it. I think this will all be included in one thread also, so we may have the crowd reacting to these little shows. After all contestants have posted, I will set up a poll where you may vote with your IC journals, acting as
your own character (which means you can technically vote as many times as you have characters – but REMEMBER to vote on for someone your
character would, not yourself).
This all is obviously very rough and open to changes according to the suggestions you guys give me. :) So basically, that is all I have planned for the festival so far. Any input would be GREATLY appreciated and encouraged. And remember, let me know if you want to help NPC some games! We really, really need lots of people for that!
