CHECK!

We've had a fair number of new muns lately, so I'll do a slightly larger explanation this month! /o/

Every 8th of the month, for a week, we run an activity check. Now, don't panic! The requirements are simple, and you likely already have what you need. :D (And if not, you have a week to reply!) More than anything this is to check to see who really aren't paying attention to the game from the people who, well, are. XD *cough*And we don't really hide that mostly we just want to see you comment, even if you don't have all completely recent activity.*cough* XD

There's two parts to the AC:

For the third-person portion of the AC, we just want the most recent comment you've done in a log on the main community, which has, preferably, been in the current month, or something close to it as you can manage.

For the first-person part we want at least %50 of your characters to have had some first-person activity. If you have an odd number of characters, round up! Journal posts, comments to someone else's, comments/posts to the message board and AIM logs (aka PIMP) all count! We have no number of comment requirements. You just have to have done SOMETHING, that's all we ask. XD Of course, if you have good reason for why you haven't been able to achieve %50, it's cool. XD We won't kill you or anything. :3 ... :3

Then, when you have that information, just comment with your character's name, their journal name, and the date you last posted to a comment to a log with them along with a link to it! Beneath all that, just copy-pasta your links to the first person activity. LJ will automatically make them a clickable link.

It donned on me that sometimes the appearance of games is a very important element to making it enjoyable, and also that Paixao's paid account time is running out AGAIN... and I'm not sure what to do about it; we might be able to take a different route than begging the members to pay for the game's prettyiness. XD I feel there might be some need for change, although I'm not sure in what areas. And who better to ask than my fellow Paixaoans, it's own residents? ;)

Alright. About two days ago we decided it would be best if Paixao closed applications to characters from fandoms that were not on our list already. This is because we were running into a lot of trouble with dealing with applications for fandoms we didn't know too well, plus with the lack of moderators it's sort of difficult to handle them in general.

Well, I've decided it'd be best if we closed our applications to ALL characters except those from Kingdom Hearts (this includes any and all Disney characters, by the way), due to our sudden... um, lapse. Before anything, we really need those characters, especially members of the Organization. I'm going to be readvertising in some communities soon so we can regain what we lost.

Sooo, please, hold off on all of your other applications, unless you wanna tackle someone from there. :)

Hello everyone. Yes, yes, it's me. I'm not entirely back from my "break" yet (no characters) but I think it would be foolish of me to just packup and leave all together. This is my game after all, eh? :) So I'm still here as a mod (starting to become a bit in-and-out myself).

That aside, Paixao is obviously in dire need of some moderators, what with us being down to two. Ahhh, I remember when that was just enough to get by. But now that the game is so big it's a little hard to do! So, yes, we're looking for some people to help out. This time around, though, we have an application. Please don't be afraid of it-- it's just, all the people who I had moderated before were close friends and so I could judge their skills properly, but I need this to get to know you!

And also... please don't feel afraid or too inferior to apply. We need all the help we can get, really, and-- well, you're probably your worst critic. I know (or at least I hope I do) that some people had always wanted to help out here, so... now is your chance! If Paixao is going to stay alive, we REALLY need some more mods!

Okay, ah, since I don't think anyone here is... actually prepared yet for the restart, we're going to have it on Wednesday, July 5th. As in, in two days. That should give you all time to reply to the NEW RESTART.. LIST... THING post here, as well ask any question, make any last minute communications with people you RPed with (the CONTACT INFO & FRIENDS ADD have been updated [plz 2 b updating your friends list D:], along with the TAKEN CHARACTERS LIST [shhh, I like caps]), and adjust your timeline... things.

REMEMBER: the restart will push everything back so that the main omgplot will start off after one in game week. Sooo, just pretend everything that has happened so far to your character happened in the first week, yes. Shhh, time is an illusion. Annnddd.... TO EVERYONE RESTARTING YOUR CHARACTERS AS WELL, if they are also re-entering the city, feel free to post those entrances... well, whenever. ASAP? I'm going to be getting Kadaj's up soon myself, sooo... yes.

YOUR ATTENTION PLEASE

Okay so, I was going through and adding a "before restart" tag to all the threads with characters who were restarting in them, just so people would be able to tell in the future to ignore that stuff, right? However, this led me to discover something very, very interesting.

Some of you don't need to restart. At all.

The original point of the restart was to provide a clean slate for people who were significantly effected by main Organization plot (including Anti X and the Savage Garden) or Ansem (including the Fortress of Darkness). The people who absolutely must restart, then, are all of the Organization, Sora, Riku, Kairi, and Namine. Everyone else, though,... well, in those cases, it gets pretty complicated. There are too many to make the transition a smooth one, and as you can see, each character that is restarted creates a ripple effect throughout the community.

Because of this, I'm going to discard the old restart list (except for the Org et al) and start a new one HERE, where you must APPLY for restart if you are not one of these characters.

Now, don't panic. There are several different types of "restarts" you can consider for your character.

First, those of you who want to completely restart your character. I am one of these people, in fact, since Kadaj was heavily involved in both the Ansem plot and the Organization plot. He only ever really spoke with Ashe and Trisana Chandler before those events occured, and that sort of thing can, hopefully, go missing from those two characters' memories with minimal fuss. If your character falls into this category, simply reply to this post saying so and provide proof in the form of threads that have gone on in which your character(s) was effected. Depending on the level of involvement, either Ang or I will approve your request or ask that you consider one of the other two options. If approved, though, either mark the threads your character was in previously as "before restart" yourself or request that the mods take care of it.

Those of you who simply wish to partially restart your character, that is to say, modify their history so that they did not meet any of the characters involved in the main plot/did not become involved themselves, your task is much easier. Simply comment here saying you wish to do so and link to the threads you wish to be marked as "before restart."

Lastly, those of you who wish to completely restart for reasons not linked to involvement in the main plot, please go back though your threads and see who you interacted with before you decide to do so. If there have been many people your character has interacted with that are not being changed themselves, you may want to consider having your character's current incarnation "go missing" and then entering him or her again as a new version through your assigned gate. This will give them a clean slate, provide for interesting interactions between characters you have met in the past should you encounter them again, as well as allow others to go about their business without having to restart themselves.

Yes, I know this is all sounds rather complicated. I will say, though, that my penchant for using entirely too many words to get the point across makes it seem a lot worse than it really is, but hopefully you can see past that and get the message of all this. If not, do not hesitate to reply to this entry with any and all questions you may have.

Just letting everyone know that I've revised the Extensive Info a bit, due to a few changes to Paixao.

Firstly, there was the animal rule that I already explained.

Secondly, I've added a no drama/harassment rule in the list of... well, rules. Thirdlyyy... there is a new POST ON TIME RULE. >:| I'm not going to directly quote everything, because I do suggest you guys re-read the info every so often to keep aquainted with how things should be. There have definitely been some small, unannounced changes to the rules over these past few months... so... yes. Do that.

All right, so there's been some confusion regarding the whole partial restart thing, and with it the restarting characters. D: In order to clear that all up and also provide a nice place for all the restarting characters to be listed somewhere so you don't get all omgconfused like I usually am, I figured I'd make this post here and you can reply with all your questions AND state which of your characters will be restarting, if any.

Organization members which were dropped or out of play at the time of the restart (Demyx, Saix, Lexaeus, & Xigbar) are not included here, but will likewise receive a clean slate for whatever new players pick them up. As for Roxas, as he has yet to be entered in the city, he remains unaffected as he has not yet officially become a part of the game.

Taking session's idea, I think it'd be a good idea for many of you who were effected to post here or contact all of the players of characters you were involved with to work out your storyline.

As for me; Axel and Rufus are restarting. Leon's storyline, I think, is uneffected-- however, I need to talk to you, Cloud-mun, because you were one of the people heavily involved in the Ansem plot, which is being reset. If you feel like you need some help figuring out how to work with that and Cloud, let me know? :3

Secondly, I'm dropping Simba and picking up Sarabi, from the same movie, obviously. ^^; Sorry KN. This brings me to another point, and that's there have been a few storyline rule changes that have taken place; everyone who has animal characters now may choose whether or not their characters get humanized, and it may even vary inside the game-- switching back and forth.

From the new info, "Because of the lack of real animals, sometimes creature who is not "humanoid" to start with will have their form changed to fit in with the setting. Think Sora-lion, except the other way around. Perhaps the reason only some animals are effected by this is by the measure of strength in their heart."

This can vary, so those of you who started out as human may switch them over, have them shift depending on certain factors (mood, physical health, etc.), or you may keep them as they are. I hope it's easily understood. XD

After a day or so of thinking, the mods have come to the decision to remove Mikael, the player of Riku (notsolight) and Zexion (tactics_), for his involvement in the theft of the paixaorpg, paixaomb, and paixaoooc communities. In addition to this, Mikael displayed a blatant disregard for others reasoning and emotions during his brief stint as one of the moderators of Paixao, ignoring their words and actions as well as spreading libel about the creator of the community with the intent of harming her reputation and that of those associated with her.

The others that had a part in this have already found ways to redeem themselves. Oreo has stated her reasons for her actions and apologized, as well as returned the communities as previously stated, and she is all right with being removed as a moderator while remaining a player. Mandee is not being removed from Paixao because we believe she was a victim of circumstance: she's new to the game, doesn't necessarily know all the facts, and was probably given only one side of the story. She had also made an effort to make peace as things unfolded, and so we are not blaming her for her involvement. Lastly, Brenda has already taken her leave of the community as she saw fit and made her apologies. We are very sorry to see her go, but we respect her decision and hope to hear from her in the future.

The maturity displayed by these players is admirable, and the moderators give their thanks for it. However, the fact remains that no such efforts have been made by Mikael, and due to this and other things told to us by the players, we have come to the conclusion that he had taken advantage of the situation and Oreo's actions for his own benefit. In addition to what was stated earlier, we hereby see fit to remove him.

Those of you who would take this as your cue to leave as well, we ask that you reconsider before doing so. However, if that is your ultimate decision, we respect your wishes and hope you have the best of luck in the future. To everyone else, we hope that you understand our reasoning and stay with us as we continue the RP.

EDIT: We've talked things over with the involved parties, and after considerable debate, have decided that Mikael shall not be removed from the game. We apologize for the confusion and to all offended parties.

Hello. I’m pretty sure most of you know me by now… if not, well, my name is Lina and I’m the mun for Kadaj/Daath, as well as one of the mods of Paixao. I have a few things to say in regards to recent events, as I’m sure a considerable amount of other people do, but most importantly, I also have things to say about the future of this RP.

Firstly, in case you have not noticed by now, Oreo has returned the original communities to Ang, and so we are once more back in paixaorpg, paixaoooc, and paixaomb. If you have not yet transferred back to those communities, please do so as soon as possible. I’d also like to say that I am incredibly grateful to Oreo for doing this. I have some idea of the kind of pressure she was under from both sides, and so I appreciate that she has done what I feel at least is the right thing. So... once again, thank you, Oreo.

Secondly, I would like to apologize for everyone that got caught in this mess, more specifically the players. None of you should have had to go through this, and I’m especially sorry to the new arrivals who were only just getting settled in when this all exploded. Bad timing, right? But now, thankfully, I think it’s safe to say things are on the way back up again, once we get a few more things sorted out.

Yes, I know. More waiting? It seems a dismal concept, however there are certain things which need to be established before we can continue. For the betterment of the community as a whole, these things must be decided, and so I shall cover them as best I can without dragging on for too long as I tend to do.

Firstly, there are several people who intend to leave, are undecided, or have already left. Those of you that spoke up on this matter are unfortunately inaccessible to me at this time—it was not my decision to delete the explanatory entries in paixaoooc, but it’s too late now to undo that. For everyone’s convenience, please announce your intentions where others may hear of them so that others may adjust their decisions accordingly. I sincerely hope we do not have a chain reaction of people leaving, and so that brings me to my next point:

Because there are so many people who left, particularly those significant to the plot and other characters in general, we feel that a partial restart is in order. Now, don’t panic; this is only relevant to characters who have been adversely effected by the departure of one significant to their development thus far. You have the option to keep up what you were doing before and continue any storylines that you may have been taking part in, but if this option simply isn’t, well, an option, you may restart if you desire. Paixao would continue play approximately one week in if this was put into effect, so that would explain the events which took place for those characters.

As for the central plot with the Organization characters, that will also restart. Considering the fact that people central to it have left, it’s only appropriate, as their disappearance cannot easily be explained away. This means, also, that Axel will restart, and so his treachery and creation of Anti X and so forth will not have happened. I also will be restarting Kadaj with this in mind, considering the fact that Daath as he is now would never have come to pass.

This restart also undoes the plot with Ansem back at the beginning of the game. Since the Organization was involved there and S is no longer with us, this has also been deemed appropriate. However, this part is still up for debate considering the fact that characters other than the Organization were involved.

I realize that this is probably asking a lot, but bear in mind that your individual storylines can still continue. The main one will be restarting, yes, but with all the things that have happened, it is necessary for the continuation of the RP. Please understand this. Also, if you have any feedback at all or alternate ideas for continuation, please supply them here for consideration. We want to keep this place alive, and that cannot be done without you the players’ input.

Regardless of where you stand, staying, leaving, or still undecided, it was wonderful to have you here, and we hope to hear from you in the future.

EDIT: Those of you concerned about losing your characters due to this proposal, please calm down. It's just a proposal and nothing is set in stone yet. Besides which, justification for the way your characters have evolved (or, in Repliku and Xenos's case, been created) can be explained in other means that do not necessarily reflect the restart of the main plot. We the mods are willing to work through this with you, so if you have any questions or concerns regarding your character, feel free to IM either myself or Ang or post a comment here if that is not a possibility. We can get through this, so do not worry.

That said, um, yes. Please be careful about how you spread out your days and don't get ahead of yourself, otherwise you'll be very bored and have no one to play with. Also, do not jump around terribly too much; if you must make sure at least the things you do in the past match up what you are doing presently, and if you must go back and do something else, make sure THAT matches up, etc., etc....
