PAIXAO NEEDS NPCS!
Good afternoon, Paixao! *salute* This is Ang finally getting around to that NPC-business a bunch of you have been wondering about.
First and foremost, an NPC is a non-playable-character. That kind of contradicts itself… but it just means it’s not an extremely prominent character that it needs its own journal (an extra, if you will), or it is too powerful of a character to be entirely out of the game master’s hands. Either way, NPCs are really important to Paixao, they help move the story along, and make the game a lot more interactive, more like an actual video game, haha.

paixaonpcs is an open account for Paixao, so everyone will have access to it and have the ability to pop in an NPC when it is necessary. I trust you guys, so if you ask for access to that account, I will give you the password so you can do whatever you like. I ask that you do NOT share the password with anyone else, not even other members of Paixao – they must come to me first to ask for it, so I know who is doing what.
Secondly, if you play an NPC you must understand that as the head mod and only game master of Paixao, I have ultimate control over the character. This doesn’t mean I will direct your every move, but it does mean I may ask you here and there to do/not do something, and I decide if the character dies/lives/whatever, whenever I please. My word is law, and if you do not abide by it, I will revoke your NPC-playing abilities and let someone else handle the character.
The following characters are NPCs:
Lumens
Citizens of Paixao
- Business owners
- Employees of restaurants/hotels/etc.
- Gypsies
- Rich folk
- Entertainers (musicians, singers, prostitutes...)
- Children
DiZ (not in play yet, but who knows)
Number I of Organization XIII
Ansem
Disney villains (soon to be in play)
Lumens are probably the easiest to play; they’re pretty much brainless animals, but sometimes they have a mean streak, especially around Nobodies – I’ll let you know when their ferocity is increasing significantly, because there will be a point in the game when they will be as much of a nuisance as Heartless are. For more information on Lumens, read the section on them in Extensive Info.
Citizens of Paixao are a bit more difficult, but not too much. Some of them can have names, some of them don’t. You must approve names and such with me, and check if there is already an NPC established for whatever you're doing. Some of them are one-time extras, and some of them can be reoccurring. They mill about town... will be encountered in restaurants, stores, hotels, etc. ALL OF THEM ARE BLOND AND BLUE-EYED. For information on the life of citizens in Paixao, read the section on them in Extensive Info.
If you would be interested in playing an NPC (we really, really need lumens) then please let me know, by commenting here, using the form below. Also, even if you are already designated to play an NPC, PLEASE FILL OUT THIS FORM so I cankeep record. It asks you for what types you'd be interested in, what genders and ages you are willing to play, as well as personalities you think you are capable of portraying (silent, brooding or happy-go-lucky, etc.).
