Welcome to End Game! (OOC Post Part 1)

Welcome to... Paixao?

Except this isn't right at all. Paixao is a ruined ghost town. Well, city. For those who have been in the city a very, very long time, they'll recognize that the layout is the same as it was pre-Sin attack. Larger, more buildings, shops that had disappeared after Sin had attacked. (See old map here.)

There's no sign of any life. Not a single Lumen. No weather beneath the domes. All the buildings lay abandoned and in disrepair, remnants of rotten food left behind in shops. If not for the strange, distorted voices from outside the domes, there would be complete and utter silence.

St. Destino remains forlorn in the distance as a collapsing ruin, much like the city itself. There's no door to a different world floor; the room where the door had been looks as though it never existed.

Where they arrived in the fields, behind them is a similar glowing, orb shaped distortion that if touched will send them back where they came.

And then there's the castle, that floats above. It's interiors are long, winding and monotonously all white and grey.

And, well... we don't have to tell you what's that in the sky, huh? :3

CR Meme!

It's been 4 months since the last one. And since the state of the RP has gone to hell in a handbasket as of late IC, maybe it's time to renew some plotting times?

State of Paixao

The floor of Paixao is a disaster zone. The city, once protected beneath ten domes, now rests in ruin, building and dome debris mixed together. Some of the city managed to come out unscathed, but the pieces that are left are highly unstable, as though disturbing it may make things fall.

The perimeter of the once-city is comprised of the survivors. Most of the citizens are more ready to snap and lash out in a way they've mostly never shown before, and the majority have clustered in the I-10/J-10/J-9 area of the map, near the destruction and surrounded by the river. There can, however, be some citizens mixed with the Outsiders, forlorn and withdrawn into themselves.

For those prepared to enter the once-city in search of trapped people and supplies, they might run across the occasional lumen curled in a corner, but the population in the city seems to have lessened. The Elysian Fields, however, are highly more populated. It's difficult to move far without coming across a skittish lumen.

The sun and moon that lit the city are gone with the domes. The only light not created by anyone is from the eerie glow of the fields. There is no weather out here. Without the city to mark some source of life, the atmosphere of the floor is more haunting than Halloween Town.

Surprise Plot/Event Post!

Many in the city of Paixao might suddenly find themselves getting a little less sleep.

From the moment you close your eyes and slip off into what one would think would be a peaceful slumber, your worst, most dreaded fears become a horrifyingly vivid nightmares.

Night, after night, after night.

Sweet dreams, Paixao~ ♥

Also, anyone who manages to get up to Halloween Town might notice the NPCs seem busier than usual, humming a rather familiar tune. Apparently Halloween is coming! How could Halloween Town look more Halloween-y? Well, somehow apparently, as everything is being made to look extra spooky.

Meanwhile, snow is piling to an all-time high now, making travel through the city nigh impossible, with the trains snowed over and just walking around is rather hard. Not to mention how it's damn cold.

Don't forget the city of Paixao is a Victorian-esq world. There are some places with electric lights, like the hotels, and some places have gas lighting, but where those don't reach, candles and oil lamps remain in use. As for heating, oil filled registers and wood stoves are the main sources of heat... so that could be a bit of a problem when you can barely get outside...

Just saying. ;3


Snow and nightmares will continue to run until-we-say-otherwise. Halloween Town's (increased) Halloween-y activity will last the week.

As with most of our more event-like plots, it's entirely optional to be having nightmares. (But like any of you would pass up on this. ;D ) Also, to anyone with any magical sense... yes, you might pick up that the nightmares seem likely to be magically caused. Perhaps some spell has been cast upon the city?

Oh, and no, those on other floors are lucky and won't experience the nightmares.

The Week in Review



Two kidnappings in one week? Must be something in the water. While the Eleventh Doctor was taken and tortured by Kuja and his villainous metal thong, Yorda seems to have been stolen from her geeky science nerd companion. But who is the culprit? Is it a chocobo after all? And she was just having so much fun at a sleepover... Meanwhile, the message board is fired up from some disturbing and antagonistic posts - a body found on the streets of Paixao!? Scar being a jerk and nobody likes him?

More friends were lost and missing, new friends were made and families have been tested. But most importantly -- what is the deal with all this snow?

Plot


The snow that had started to fall over Paixao hasn't stopped. It hasn't even lightened up. It keeps falling within the domes and it's gotten to the point where it's unmanageable. The trains have been shut down, unable to run.

In other news, the mayor has made his presence known once more.


Announcements


As of this post, Mayor Douchetoris (as I've come to nickname him) has made his presence known in the city again. He's gone back to the old, old ways of not letting people leave the gates and no, he's not about to change his mind in that regards. You can, however, still get out of the city, probably with violence if you want to just waltz through the exit, or you can find other ways like stealth methods or finding someone that can use portals, turn into a mouse and skitter by. Creativity! Go for it.

But for those of you that are terrible to your muses, there's another option. Those who try to exit can be arrested by some pretty tough citizens and brought into "prison" to serve time for a short while. ...At least, that's what characters think will happen.

What really happens? Your characters are handed over to the Organization, surprise surprise. You can sign up here (the "plot signups" link can be found on both the ooc and rpg sidebars) if you wish your character ill will and from there we'll organize experiments. It can be anything from the norm light/dark injections to just being stuck with a prick; whatever it is, you can sort that out with your experimenter. BUT the difference from before is that once released, the only memory that your character will have is that they were serving time.

Oh, and Org members, be sure to check the comm if you haven't already!

CR and Other Stuff

Hey wonderful Paixao! Just tossing a few things out so I can get caught up from my super hiatus of doom!

1.) Maybe it's me, but I feel like most of my characters are lacking in CR, so if you want to poke me to plot stuff, I'm more than happy to. (For those who are new, it's Link, Simba, Toph, Remus, and Toboe.) Not really a huge deal, I guess, but something that's been gnawing at me a little.

2.) Zoan and Wolfie! Plots for Zira/Simba/Kovu thread of DOOM? Zoan, I heard you've been busy, so if you need more time before we start, that's cool.

3.) People in the century-old Spira thread(with Riku, Link, Mao, and Yorda)! Do any of you have any idea about what's gonna happen there in the end? I'd like to get Link and my other characters in new logs, but since I'm not sure what's gonna happen in the thread, Link is kind of stuck. Once again, if no one knows, that's cool. I'm just impatient.

Fog Plot - The Refoggening

So, in an attempt to wrap up the game's spooky fog plot, we have a science fun log underway. That said, what characters out there still need a cure? It seems most have broken themselves of the affects through the power of friendship. Of course, some characters may still want a medicinal cure as an extra security caution.

Depending on how many characters still need/want one, I'll make a log soon-ish for doling out the meds. Urd style!

ATTN: ANY SPIRA TEAMS

Okay. So. Two things. One, for any and all peeps who're in Spira, I propose the GREAT CHOCOBO THREAD. This thread basically encompasses anyone's experience (hilarious or otherwise) with a chocobo. This could be as small interactions between a couple characters, your whole party, or as one-shot-ers that just pertain to your character only. Past the Calm Lands already? No problem! It could be written as a flashback!

Second thing. FOR TEAM KLYRM (Kairi, Link, Yorda, Riku, Mao. So sue me.)

So. We use chocobos to get through the calm lands. So we'll make this thread at the same time. We can start with them approaching the fayth and all WTFuzzing over a wall of human beings. Sound cool?

Some Announcements

Hey guys. We've got a few announcements to make.

First off, we're going to declare the fog plot, for the most part, over. There's still going to be tagging to the log where everyone's trying to find a cure and Rue should have something to help administer the cure to people pretty soon. So stay tuned for that.

With that said, us mods are kind of at a loss right now.

We understand that sometimes life gets in the way and that sometimes people are busy. And beyond that, some tags are harder than others, especially when certain muses aren't awake. We know that and you guys know that. It's what makes the environment so relaxing.

But at the same time... We have never, ever finished a plot given by mods (and even a good amount of plots that HAVEN'T been put in place by mods). All of the posts that WOULD end the mod plots (many of which are important to the story of the game as a whole) have died. It's getting ridiculous. We know we're a slow game, guys, but we're not that slow. We should be able to finish at least one of these.

And, honestly, this trend has become especially apparent with all the Spira logs. This plot really wasn't very complicated, guys. Even with Paixao's pace, this should have taken two or three months tops. It has been half a year already, and, unfortunately, we cannot continue to any new floors until a post in Zanarkand is finished. Due to events that will occur in the Zanarkand Dome, all posts that occur in there cannot be handwaved. Not even for the FFX characters. If you do not reach the NPC there, we have to assume that your characters didn't reach it.

What do you think we can do to make sure the plot logs don't just stop? What do you guys think can be done? We can't really move on or give you guys new plot until the current stuff is finished. What do you guys think? What's taking everything so long? How can that be changed?

The Fog

A thick fog has begun to work its sinuous way into Paixao at night, leaving no corner or alley untouched. Those who find themselves exposed to this mysterious shroud find their friends and loved ones may not be what they seem -- are they really who they say they are? Why are they staring at you like that? What do they want!? You have to get away...at any cost. But like the encroaching fog, these thoughts and feelings dissipate with the morning sun.

Once night comes again, however, and the fog returns, so too will the escalating sensation of everything being horribly, horribly wrong.

As you might have guessed, the fog is one more experimentation on the hapless visitors to Paixao. The fog is infused with a kind of "paranoia virus," infecting at random -- it may start off subtle at first, a vague sense of unease around friends and family. But as exposure increases, so too will the paranoia, including hallucinations, both visual and auditory.

It seems those who have the closest bonds to the people they care about will experience the strongest symptoms. How will your character react to believing their friends are out to get them? Will they flee in terror? Or perhaps fight back? What consequences will there be in the light of day?

At the moment, there doesn't seem to be a medicinal cure (though that is sure to change as more information about the virus is released). However, if the feelings your character has are strong enough, if the bond is that deep, perhaps they can fight through the fear and rage and see the truth. Once someone has "broken" the virus, they will find themselves with immunity forever. It may very well be a struggle to get to that point, however.

You are free to have your character's paranoia come through in different ways. You could have them terrified of everyone they know, or perhaps one friend will be considered "safe" in your character's delusion. It's necessary to point out that, among your group of CR, there should be at least one person not affected by the virus -- if everyone is affected by paranoia, no one would try to get to the bottom of things! So feel free to use this post to talk with your canon mates/CR partners to plan who will be affected and who won't.

This is not a mandatory plot. Some characters can simply have immunity from the get go; maybe being what they are means it doesn't affect them. Or it could be their heart is pure or strong enough to resist.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask!

Edit: In case it isn't clear, the fog will only be out at night. Once daylight breaks, it'll vanish pretty quickly. But it'll be out all night.

Son of Edit: This plot will continue until someone develops a medicinal cure or stops the fog from forming in the first place. It's not limited to this week only.

MOD ANNOUNCEMENT PART ONE

As mentioned in the week change before, we've got something ready for you guys and finally have all the details ironed out. And eventually more to come in the future!

But first, we've got another announcement. We're going to have to go ahead and backlog the rest of the Halloween Town plot. You are a-okay to keep posting to Shantotto's MB and log posts (and we encourage you to do so!) and Halloween Town will always be open for visiting, but the plot itself can be considered over. We probably all want to move on to other worlds at this point. XD

Pretty much after all the Halloween Town residents are freed, their memories of the door complete and you get the door to the next world. Also, one of them has a world card and hands it over, unlocking a new world!

We'll have the complete reveal sometime tonight read: once I'm finished typing it up so look forward to that!

In the meantime, if you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask.

Your characters are free to pick up either a trapped card or an NPC card! Just make sure to let us know that your character grabbed one of the cards and where they grabbed it so we can make the right edits here.

The Week in Review

People continued to wander in through the city gates as the ex-Mayor's secretary, Rosemary, announced a chance for Paixao's visitors to become citizens and get a shot at the title of "Mayor." Meanwhile, plans were formed to go to Halloween Town, deals were upheld, and other, terrible deals were made.

Plot

There's been a small change in the Halloween Town landscape, one those who have wandered into the world are likely to immediately notice.

Cards. Plenty of them, scattered around the area. Some are left in rather tricky to get to spots, while others lay right in the open, waiting for someone to snatch them up. Those who examine the cards might find that they have a familiar face stamped on them. Others are left with an all-too-sudden ride home.

A clue to Halloween Town's missing inhabitants has appeared, and one person in particular might have the answers.

But putting things right isn't quite as easy as it seems, and your darkest fears hide around every corner.
